Dr. Weiss is a National Merit and John Harvard Scholar, and a world-renowned academic neuroradiologist. His educational background includes Harvard College, the University of Michigan Medical School, and the University of Stanford diagnostic residency. He is fellowship trained in both MRI and Neuroradiology. As an MRI expert and visionary innovator, he has authored scores of peer-reviewed papers, and international presentations, and has been awarded several US patents, copyrights, and trademarks. He is perhaps most well-known for his patented software for labeling the spine correctly even in the presence of anatomic variation, or pathology. His software is a commercial product offered on Siemens products to include, but not limited to, CT and MRI scanners, workstations, and multi-modality software platforms. Dr. Weiss is Medical Director of Akumin Aventura maintains an academic appointment as Voluntary Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
